Former EastEnder’s actor and soon to be West End Star, Michelle Ryan, is to make her musical theatre debut playing the eponymous singer Sally Bowles in Rufus Norris’ upcoming revival of Cabaret. Ryan will play alongside pop mogul Will Young, who as reported by Shows In London earlier, will also be making his musical theatre debut playing Emcee.
Speaking about the part Ryan described the role as a “gift”, adding: “Sally is quite delusional. She’s not the best singer, she’s not a performer, but she has this kind of spirit that takes her through it all … I’ve been working with a voice coach for two years (on new film The Man Inside), so you could say that when Cabaret came along I was ready.”
