Birmingham Royal Ballet brings its Shakespeare Triple Bill to London’s Sadler’s Wells Theatre. The Triple Bill celebrates Shakespeare by combining comedy, tragedy and poetry in one unique show of captivating dance.
José Limón’s The Moor’s Pavane distils the intense passion and jealousy of Othello into one enthralling display of dance, centred on the jealousy of four characters. Performed to a “swinging Duke Ellington score”, David Bintley’s The Shakespeare Suite sets a collection of the Bard’s most treasured characters.
From the romantic to the bewitched, star-crossed to squabbling, the act spectacles the idiosyncrasies of every Shakespearean couple. This world premiere work is concluded with Jessica Lang’s evoking of the poetry of the Sonnets.
