Following a highly acclaimed run on Broadway where it received several Tony nominations. Robert Askins’ dark comedy Hand To God is showing at the Vaudeville Theatre.
The story is set in a small town in Texas where a troubled teenager is forced to take part in a puppet pageant. Though when ‘Tyrone’ the puppet becomes ‘possessed’ and is besieged with violence, foul language and other vulgarities, all hell breaks loose in the small Texan town.
Described by the New Yorker as a “Kinda Sesame St meets “The Exorcist”, Askins’ Hand To God is an hysterical show, dubbed as being the most exciting new play to come out of America this year.
