Lights! Camera! Improvise! Show description
Performance on:
Monday 11th January 2015 – 8pm
Not many shows allow their audience to decide the theme, title and plot of the play they have gone to see. This unusual show format is the crux behind Lights! Camera! Improvise! where the audience take a leading role.
For a limited number of performances the cast of the West End sensation The Play That Goes Wrong show off their improvisation talents in the highly-acclaimed comedy Lights! Camera! Improvise!
This comical show begins by the audience suggesting the genre, title and location of the show. The cast then produce an improvised play based on the audience’s recommendations. As the movie unravels, Oscar, the resident ‘film buff’, can fast-forward, rewind and pause scenes with, as you can imagine, hilarious results.
For the past five years Lights! Camera! Improvise! has been thrilling audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it won Spirit of the Fringe Award in 2013. A series of five star reviews of the show have described it as “outstanding”, “side-splitting” and “hysterical”, with one review stating:
“Hollywood writers are paid millions to come up with something a fraction as funny.”
The Lights! Camera! Action! cast include Henry Shields, Grey Tannahill, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, Charlie Russell, Dave Hearn, Nancy Wallinger and Rob Falconer.
Lights! Camera! Improvise! has a duration of approximately 1 hour 55 minutes, including one interval. The comedy is recommended for people aged 12 and above.
