Love’s Labour’s Lost
Following success in 2014 at the RSC Stratford, acclaimed director Christopher Luscombe brings Love’s Labour’s Lost to the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Love’s Labour’s Lost is presented with Much Ado About Nothing, renamed as Love’s Labour’s Won.
The story is set in 1914 and follows the exploits of the King and his cronies. Though when the Princess of France and her entourage arrive, the King is forced to rethink his ways, with comical consequences.
Love’s Labour’s Lost was one of Shakespeare’s earliest comedies, which is believed to have been written in the mid-1590s. The modern adaptation of the classic Shakespeare comedy earned great reviews in Stratford, described by The Telegraph as “The most blissfully entertaining and emotionally involving RSC offering I’ve seen in ages.”
