The Dresser is showing at the Duke of York’s Theatre from Wednesday 5 October 2016 until Saturday 14 January 2017.
The Dresser
An eagerly awaited arrival of Sir Ronald Harwood’s moving play The Dresser is coming to the Duke of York’s Theatre. Ken Stott and Reece Shearsmith join forces playing “Sir” and Norman “The Dresser”.
Described by The Guardian as being “a wonderfully affectionate and intelligent play about the theatre”, The Dresser examines the relationship between two men who are reluctantly co-dependent upon one another. Set in the throes of World War II, the classical, ageing and once-famous actor “Sir” is hesitant to take to the stage, and it is up to his faithful dresser Norman to encourage him to perform.
The Dresser is hailed as Donald Harwood’s greatest play, nominated for both Tony and Olivier Awards. Led by a multi-award winning creative team that’s directed by Sean Foley, The Dresser at the Duke of York’s Theatre promises to be an unmissable production.
