Show Description – The End of Longing
Legendary actor Matthew Perry moves into playwriting with a dark comedy The End of Longing. Described as “fast-paced and bittersweet”, Perry’s new play tracks the lives and relationships of four lost souls who, as they approach 40, are struggling to find the meaning of life.
Following a wild night out in a bar in Los Angeles, thirtysomethings Jack, Stephanie, Joseph and Stevie bond irreversible relations which force them to explore the darker side of their relationships.
Lindsay Posner is directing The End of Longing, which sees Perry and Posner reunite after their 2003 professional relationship on the West End on David Mamet’s comedy ‘Sexual Perversity in Chicago’.
Best known for playing Chandler in the long-standing American sitcom Friends, Matthew Perry admits to being a little apprehensive about his playwriting debut, stating: “Being on stage makes you feel naked. Being on stage in a play that I have written will make me feel doubly naked.”
