Show Description – The Go-Between
The Go-Between is based on a novel by L. P. Hartle and retells the story of Leo Colston, an elderly man who can no longer hide from distant memories, which take him back to the resplendently hot summer of 1900 in Norfolk. Leo spent the summer at his friend Marcus’ luxury country home, where he gets caught up in a secret love-affair between the stunning upper-class Marian and the family’s farmer, Ted.
In a story about the coming of age Leo finds himself deeply involved in the deceitful atmosphere of adultery and dishonesty – a summer that shapes Leo’s life forever.
Olivier and Tony Award-winning Michael Crawford stars in the West End premier of The Go-Between, playing Leo Colston. Richard Taylor has written the score and David Wood has written the book in this stage adaptation of The Go-Between, which is directed by Roger Haines.
