The legendary rock musical Godspell is playing at the Lyric theatre for one night only, Monday 19th May.

A special concert of Godspell, featuring a West End Cast plus Special Guests, a live band and a 32-strong choir, conducted by Russell Scott, is being performed as a charity gala in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation in the U.K. for one night only.

Godspell is the inventive musical from Stephen Schwartz, the Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer of Wicked. Godspell returns to London’s West End for this first time in almost 40 years.

Godspell is the ultimate feel-good musical. The show is based on a series of parables, played to the sound of rock ‘n’ pop with lyrics from traditional hymns, with the passion of Christ treated briefly near the end of the performance.

Cast List

The star-packed event will be introduced on stage by David Essex, whose casting as Jesus in the
original production turned him into an overnight sensation. Now his 1974 co-stars, Marti Webb, Gay
Soper, Tom Saffery, Deryk Parkin and Jacquie Ann Carr are confirmed to join him on stage at the end
of the evening.

Godspell will star Zoe Tyler and Andy Abraham, with a West End cast, a live band and a 32-strong
choir led by members of Maida Vale Singers and American Musical Theatre Academy.
