The Jersey Boys is coming to the cinema

Yes you read correctly, we’ll soon be able to enjoy a silver screen adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical “Jersey Boys.” What’s more, it’s directed by no other than Clint Eastwood.

What has been dubbed as being “arguably the best musical in the West End”, Jersey Boys has been a smash hit sensation on London theatre. The show, which skilfully combines laughter and tears, portrays the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons’ transition from humble New Jersey beginnings to pop super stardom. The soaring sounds of the Four Seasons blasting into the auditorium has proven a justifiable smash hit in the West End.

One trailer and a whole lot of excitment

Like the musical, the Jersey Boys film follows the fascinating Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons’ story. Responsible for the wave of excitement that has fevered both Frankie Valli and Eastwood fans, is a newly released trailer for Clint Eastwood’s cinematic version of Jersey Boys. In two ‘show-stopping’ minutes the trailer provides snippets of the documentary-style film that playfully covers the four themes the Jersey Boys musical became loved for – loyalty, ambition, backstabbing and jealously.

Eastwood’s Jersey Boys is starring four relatively unknown actors – Erich Bergen, Michael Lomenda, John Lloyd Young and Vincent Piazza. Although John Lloyd Young is not unfamiliar with Jersey Boys’ fever, having won a Tony Award for playing the original role of Frankie Valli on Broadway in 2006.

Four Seasons hits

Intensifying the fervour and anticipation created by the short trailer are the legendary Four Seasons songs that dominate the soundtrack, including Sherry, Who Loves You and You’re Just Too Good to be True. Even the trailer, like the West End musical, gives you goosebumps and makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.

Judging by the excitement a mere trailer has generated, the acclaimed Oscar-winning director’s Jersey Boys promises to be a hit on the big screen. You’ll have to wait until June 20, 2014 until Jersey Boys is released in the cinema. In the meantime you can still buy tickets for the award-winning show which will be on the West End until October 26, 2014.
