Calling all Lord of the Dance fans, a hugely anticipated new staging of the fabulous production is arriving at the London Palladium this autumn for eight weeks of show-stopping glamour and glitz
Lord of the Dance is coming to the London Palladium this autumn
What has been described as a “spectacular new staging”, Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games is once again directed by Michael Flatley, who’s original Lord of the Dance has been thrilling audiences around the world since it was released in the 1990s.
Making contemporary dance mainstream
Being the only dancer in the world to have sold out football stadiums, Michael Flatley has been given the honour of being responsible for bringing modern dance to a mainstream audience. The hugely successful Irish-American dancer and choreographer and his inimitable pop-imbued Irish dance rose to prominence following Riverdance’s appearance in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest.
Flatley has said Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games will be his “final West End performances.”
Brimming with talented young performers
Aiding the vibrancy and passion of this award-winning dance phenomenon is a cast of 40 highly gifted young performers. Making a guest performance as a young dancing goddess called Erin is Nadine Coyle. The Irish singer, songwriter and actress sprung to fame in the early 2000s with the successful girl band, Girls Aloud. Coyle enjoyed huge popularity and success with Girls Aloud, including two number one albums and a string of consecutive top ten singles. In 2010 Coyle released her first debut solo album called ‘Insatiable’ which garnered heavy critical praise.
Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games will open at the London Palladium on 1 September where it will run until 25 October, 2014. The show will then head to the Hammersmith Apollo as part of an 18 month tour which will visit 15 countries on more than 200 dates.
On June 22, a preview to Michael Flatley’s new staging of the iconic Lord of the Dance will take place in Trafalgar Square at West End Live.
