Show description – Explosion UK Tour
Explosion is a show that entwines the beauty and passion of several types of dance. It begins with portraying traditional flamenco music at its finest.
The performers proceed to dance, sing and play their way through many different styles of dance, including Tango, Farrucas and Bulerias, whilst retaining a clearly strong ballet influence.
Throughout the powerful choreograph, Explosion tells a compelling story about love and passion.
In the second half of Explosion the play speeds up notch as if it has been projected into the 21st century.
Explosion is produced by Jay Markwick, a choreographer and company director of the Flamenco Dance Company. Markwick’s passion for this style of dance and the speed and techniques used to portray it, is blatant in this emotive show. Augmenting the uniqueness of the dance are Markwick’s individual dance styles which are woven throughout the compelling street, Latin and contemporary sequences.
With an inspiringly talented cast of 12, incredible lighting, delightfully colourful costumes and breathtakingly innovative routines, audiences really are in for a treat as Explosion UK Tour comes to the Lyric Theatre.
Explosion will play at the Lyric Theatre on Monday 27 April 2015.
The show runs for 110 minutes, including a 20 minute interval.
