True life inspirations
Memphis the Musical is inspired by real-life stories which took place in the underground nightclub scene in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950s. It traces the forbidden love and rise to fame of a radio DJ who aspires to help a Memphis club singer find the big break she is looking for.
What was heralded as ‘The West End’s newest hit show’ is directed by Christopher Ashley.
