Laugh out loud with Dawn French’s 30 Million Minutes at the Vaudeville Theatre

The ‘Queen of British comedy’ Dawn French is bringing her debut solo show 30 Million Minutes to the West End for a limited run at the Vaudeville Theatre

The much-loved comedian is coming to the West End

30 Million Minutes – in reference to how long the comedian has been alive, give or take a few minutes – toured the UK last year, to sell out auditoriums and much critical acclaim.

From marriage to weight loss

The stand-up show is written by Dawn French and is based on her life and career, everything from weight loss and her marriage to Lenny Henry, to her adopted daughter Billie and her second husband Mark Bignell.

The award-winning actor and best-selling author admits her extraordinary lack of willpower, combined with an enviable knack for nosey parking and showing off, has driven her to grapple with the ‘big stuff’ of life in public – 30 million minutes of life in fact.

New pants!

Talking about bringing the show to London, Dawn French said:

“I shall be buying new pants in honour of this exciting opportunity to bring my show into London’s glittery West End, so every audience member can relax in the knowledge that I will be fully contained and utterly fragrant at all times.”

With hit shows including French and Saunders and The Vicar of Dibley, on television Dawn French is of course a household name. The comedian and actor is also no stranger to the West End stage, having played in ‘French and Saunders – Still Alive’ at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 2008, ‘Smaller’ at the Lyric Theatre in 2006 and in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in 2001 at the Noel Coward Theatre, which was then the Albery Theatre.

The show is directed by Michael Grandage and produced by the Michael Grandage Company and Phil McIntyre Entertainments.

Dawn French: 30 Million Minutes will play at the Vaudeville Theatre from 11 November unto 5 December 2015.
