People, Places and Things is showing at the Wyndham’s Theatre from 15 March 2016 until 4 June 2016.

Show Description – People, Places and Things

Following great reviews when it opened at the Dorfman Theatre in September 2015, the National Theatre’s production of People, Places and Things is showing at the Wyndham’s Theatre for a limited period.

Dramatist Duncan Macmillan tackles the theme of addiction in an ambitious play that explores the parallels between theatrical process and rehabilitation. The action is presented from the perspective of Emma, an actress beleaguered with drink and drug addiction.

Denise Gough reprises the role of Emma. Gough’s performance as Emma at the Dorfman Theatre was heralded as a “stand-out turn”, described by The Guardian as an “astonishing central performance” in which Gough “breathtakingly captures Emma’s mix of dependency, delusion and scepticism.”

People, Places and Things is directed by Jeremy Herrin and is the latest collaboration between the National Theatre and the Headlong theatre company.
