Show Description – The War of the Worlds
Conducted by Jeff Wayne and featuring The Black Smoke Band and the ULLAdubULLA strings, this musical adaptation retells the story of the science fiction novel by H. G. Wells, published in 1897.
The story is carried by through a progressive rock string orchestra and rhyming melodic lyrics that express the feelings of the different characters. The plot involves a journalist recounting his experiences in the late 19th century and possible alien encounters.
Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds is one of the best-known and best-selling musicals of all time, having sold around 15 million records worldwide. The album has charted in 22 countries, 11 of which it reached number one.
Bill Kenwright and Jeff Wayne present the West End debut of the multi-award winning musical, which includes, in 3D Holography, Liam Neeson as the journalist.
