Richard Jones to make a guest appearance in Impossible

Last month, Lance Corporal Richard Jones made television history by being the first ever magician to win the popular talent show Britain’s Got Talent.  Now the beguiling magician is to take to the West End stage, making a guest appearance in the ‘world’s greatest magic show’.

Following a greatly received run in London last year, Impossible is returning to the West End this summer. This captivating show features some of the greatest illusionists in the world, with the likes of Magical Bones, Sabine Van Diemen, Josephine Lee, Ben Hart, Jonathan Goodwin and Chris Cox, wowing audiences with their breath-taking stunts.

This show is set to be even more gripping, with the arrival of Lance Corporal Richard Jones. In this year’s Britain’s Got Talent Richard Jones mesmerised the judges, as well as the audience, with his incredible illusionary performances.

Richard admits that it wasn’t until he was in the Army at the age of 19 when he started getting involved in magic, putting on performances in front of his military comrades.

The completely self-taught magician says he is inspired by the work of both Derren Brown and David Copperfield. Richard Jones is especially motivated by mentalism, and exploring body language and subconscious influences.

Lance Corporal Richard Jones described performing on the West End as a “dream come true.”

“The past few weeks have been such a whirlwind! It is truly a dream come true to have won Britain’s Got Talent and now to be joining Impossible, in the heart of the West End, with such brilliant magicians. It is something I have always dreamt of.”

Impossible producer Jamie Hendry also shared his excitement of having Richard Jones join the show.

“I’m delighted to welcome Richard Jones to Impossible as we return to the Noel Coward Theatre this summer. Having watched him wow the judges and audiences on Britain’s Got Talent, I knew he’d be a wonderful addition to our show and I’m delighted to make his dreams come true by casting him in a starring role in the West End,” said Jamie Hendry.

Bringing together a group of world-class performers, Impossible combines enthralling illusions on a grand scale, technological deception, close-up magic and death-defying stunts, in what’s hailed as the greatest magic show on earth.

Impossible is showing at the Noel Coward Theatre from Friday 8 July until Saturday 27 August, 2016.
