We Will Rock You in London celebrates 11 years.

On the 14th May 2013 the show We Will Rock You will be celebrating 11 years at the Dominion theatre in London.

We Will Rock You is now the longest-running show ever at the Dominion theatre in London, a huge feat considering that the Dominion is one of the largest theatres in the West End with a seating capacity of 2,163.

We Will Rock You is now officially the 9th longest running show in the West End, and expect it to be rocking for a few more years yet.

Rumours abound that a stellar cast will be at the Dominion on the 14th May, including Emeli Sande, Adele and Ed Sheeran. One appearance that all die-hard Queen fans and fans of the We Will Rock You musical will be hoping for is an appearance by the legendary Queen guitarist Brian May. Hopefully drummer Roger Taylor, whose appearances are considerably rarer than sighting a badger in spring, will also grace the show with his presence.

Taking nothing away from the hugely talented and enthusiastic cast but whenever Brian and Roger appear in We Will Rock You the atmosphere goes up another couple of notches and you are guaranteed a blistering end to the show together with the added bonus of possibly an extra song or two.

As the show in London celebrates another successful year it seems inconceivable that the critics so dreadfully savaged it and that the ill-fated Lord of the Rings attempted to persuade owners of the Dominion theatre to kick-out We Will Rock You to accommodate their musical.

The musical features 24 of Queen’s greatest hits in this wonderfully funny, multi-award-winning and record-breaking show written by comedian and writer Ben Elton famous for writing TV’s “Mr. Bean” and “The Young Ones”.

Amongst Queen’s biggest songs featured include “Another One Bites The Dust”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, “We Are The Champions”, “Bohemian Rhapsody” and, of course, “We Will Rock You.”

It is rumoured that Emeli Sande fresh from her summer Olympic success, featuring at both the opening and closing ceremonies at the London Olympics 2012 will be appearing  in the role of Scaramouche.

Scottish singer / songwriter Emeli is rumoured to be joined in the show by Ed Sheeran as Galileo and Adele as the Killer Queen. A spokesman for We Will Rock You has refused to confirm the rumours.
