The master of mind control and illusion returns to the London stage
Olivier Award-winner Derren Brown returns to the West End with a brand new Live show; Derren Brown: Infamous, at the Palace Theatre. This will be the first time Brown has performed at the Palace Theatre since his debut West End production Derren Brown Live ran there in 2004.
Written by Brown and actor & magician Andy Nyman, Infamous will run from the 24th June to August 17th in London’s West End after touring parts over the UK from March earlier this year.
Brown said about the show: “We abandoned the template that had won us a couple of Oliviers over the years for a very different feel. It’s important to us that the shows feel like something you can’t find anywhere else in theatre or entertainment; not even my own previous efforts. I’m really excited by the result. The show is a secret so I’m not giving away what’s in it, but it’s a psychological roller-coaster based around audience participation, and it’s got a real heart to it. The response on tour has been incredible, it’s all such a treat.”
Derren Brown returns to the West End after his mind-blowing production Svengali which went on to tour the UK at over 150 venues nationwide. The show went on to win the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment Show 2012 and was broadcast on Channel 4 in September last year.
As always, Derren successfully combines a great sense of illusion, showmanship and suggestion which leaves the audience bewildered as to just how he does it. The show is one of the most personal shows that Brown has produced as it deals strongly with identity, perspectives and the ability to have an open mind.
Derren Brown is easily one of the best recognised illusionists in the UK and there have always been questions in the back of our minds as to whether or not he possesses supernatural powers . He is known for; manipulating members of the public into robbing a security van, playing Russian Roulette live on air, and convincing an unsuspecting 20-something man that he is living a real-life Zombie Apocalypse.
Whether you believe Derren Brown has supernatural powers or not, this show is sure to shock, mesmerise and entertain the nation.
The performance is not suitable for under 12s.
