More tickets on sale for Wicked
More tickets are now on sale for the sensational hit musical, Wicked at the Apollo Victoria theatre in London.
Due to the enormous popularity of the show in London bookings have been extended through until the 24th April 2014. Such is the demand for tickets that the show continues to pack audiences out and is now booking a year in advance.
The show in London has also added on an extra matinee to help satisfy the insatiable appetite for tickets for Wicked with an extra performance on Thursday 22nd August 2013 at 2.30 p.m at the Apollo Victoria theatre.
Wicked is billed as the prequel to the Wizard of Oz, but it is a much more sophisticated show. The story picks up before the Wizard of Oz and tells the as yet untold tale of how Elphaba and Glinda met, and their journeys in becoming the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the good fairy respectively.
Whilst a spectacular musical, with stunning costumes, sensational sets and most importantly, fantastic songs, the show does touch on some under-lying issues including prejudice, bullying and propaganda, which is what makes it such a fascinating story. Why are people treated differently because of the way they look, the colour of their skin (in this case green)? What makes someone become wicked? Are they born wicked or do events and situations cause them to turn wicked? Or in fact are they not wicked at all but just get a bad press?

At the heart of the story though is two girls friendship, the journey through their relationship, the loves of the lives and ultimately the consequences of their decisions.
This musical is one of the best ever, and matches great story-telling with amazing costumes and set design as well as some of the best choreography and musical numbers anywhere in the West End.
Since the show Wicked started on Broadway in 2003 it has been breaking Box Office records the world over. It is the 12th longest running show in Broadway history. Wicked has now been playing at the Apollo Victoria theatre in London since 2006, and has won numerous awards along the way.
