At last the long-awaited return of theatre legend Robert Lindsay to the musical stage where he is joined by popular comedian Rufus Hound in a new show. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels the musical starring Robert Lindsay and Rufus Hound to hit the London stage in 2014. Tickets for the show are on sale now!

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is the new musical from acclaimed Broadway and West End director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell coming to the Savoy theatre in London previewing from the 10th March 2014 with the opening gala night scheduled for the 2nd April 2014.

The show in London at the Savoy theatre heralds the return to the London stage in a musical of theatre legend Robert Lindsay, a three-time Olivier Award and Tony Award winner for the highly acclaimed productions of Me And My Girl, Becket and Oliver! and famed for the BBC smash hit TV comedy My Family. Robert Lindsay makes his much anticipated return to the West End stage in a musical some 29 years after Robert trod the boards in the iconic role he created of Bill Snibson in Me and My Girl at the Adelphi theatre.

Playing opposite him is popular comedian Rufus Hound, recent star of the National Theatre’s production of One Man, Two Guvnors at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Tickets for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels the musical at the Savoy theatre are now on sale.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a comedy musical based on the hit film starring Sir Michael Caine and Steve Martin. Two con men operating on the French Riviera compete for a bet to swindle a millionaire heiress. Suave con man Lawrence Jamieson, who believes in conning corrupt, rich people out of their money so he can spend it on culture and a lavish lifestyle and his loud, cocky American rival, Freddy Benson vie for targets on the French Riviera. Realising there isn’t room for them both to operate successfully they strike up an unlikely bet that whoever  is the first to con $50,000 out of a selected mark will be allowed to stay, while the other must leave town and never return.

Katherine Kingsley, nominated for Best Actress in a Musical at the Olivier Awards for Singin’ In The Rain and most recently starring in A Midsummer Night’s Dream opposite David Walliams and Sheridan Smith, joins this formidable cast.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, whose smash hit musicals include Broadway’s Kinky Boots (Winner of the coveted 2013 Best Musical and Best Choreography Tony Awards), Hairspray (Winner of 8 Tony Awards) and Legally Blonde (Winner Best Musical, Olivier Awards).

Written by the Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning Jeffrey Lane, the writer behind the Broadway smash hit Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and TV’s Mad About You.

Music and Lyrics are by David Yazbek, winner of the Drama Desk Award for the Broadway and West End smash hit musical The Full Monty, whose composing credits also include music for Queen and The David Letterman Show.
