The long awited film version of Rock of Ages the musical finally hits cinemas on the 13th June 2013 starring Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alec Baldwin, Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta and our very own Russell Brand as Lonnie.
This hugely popular musical has been a hit both sides of the Atlantic featuring classic 70s and 80s rock anthems. Currently showing at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London it is a mix of rock music and comedy.
Set in 1987 Los Angeles, Drew and Sherrie are two young people chasing their dreams in the big city. When they meet, it’s love at first sight, though the path of true romance is ill-fated with hilarious consequences.
It will be interesting to see how this show transfers to the big screen because part of the attraction is the live music, which is loud and raucous and the inter-audience banter with the cast. We know we’ll be there to find out, stale popcorn and plastic-cheese nachos in hand!
