The show must go on. As yet no shows in London have been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. So put on your warm clothes, pack a pair of mittens and enjoy the wonder of the West End theatre.
Disney’s The Lion King are invoking the wartime spirit as snow hits London.
Tickets for The Lion King and other shows are not refunding tickets but are generously offering exchanges to another date if you are genuinely snowed in the worst hit areas.
Wartime veteran Sandra said, ‘If I can get in from Brighton, then travelling on the tube around London is possible. London transport is still running albeit at a rescheduled timetable. What we need is wartime spirit please’
So our advice at Shows in London is to put on your thermals and brave the weather to enjoy all the fantastic theatre shows in London.
If you are in far flung places that are badly affected by snow, Wales for instance, and you feel unable to get your shovel out to clear yourself a path down to London then please call our team now on 0871 976 976 7 and have an alternative date in mind in order that we can exchange your tickets, if you have purchased tickets for tonight (Friday 18th January) or tomorrow (Saturday 19th January).
Other shows are exercising a similar snow policy, but if in doubt please call us, but also please be patient as we are currently getting inundated with calls.
The Bodyguard, performances at the Adelphi theatre are still going ahead but they are permitting ticket exchanges, so please have you new date in mind.
Matilda at the Cambridge theatre, the show is going ahead but ticket exchanges will be permitted, however, please be aware that many future performances tickets are sold out, so please have at least a couple of alternative dates in mind before calling us.
The Phantom of the Opera, at Her Majesty’s theatre after 25 years there is nothing that won’t stop the show from going ahead, at the moment there is no snow policy and each case will be dealt with on an individual basis. Presume that the producers at Cameron Mackintosh will be consulting the weather forecast and getting out their rulers to determine whether the snow fall in your area is a sufficient excuse.
War Horse, at the New London theatre, of course will be invoking that wartime spirit and the show will go ahead, horses are hardy animals and can weather (excuse the pun) most conditions. Just bring a carrot to buck-up that plucky steed. If you decide that you are a deserter then any exchange request for tickets must be made at least four hours prior to the performance. Again be aware that this is an extremely popular show and tickets for many future performances are sold out but you will need to have a definite date in mind, so probably best to have alternatives too.
Shrek will be ploughing through the snow as the show is still on, but ticket exchanges will be permitted. Please have an alternative date in mind but note that tickets for all performances after Saturday 16 February are already sold out.
Rock of Ages at the Garrick theatre, Thriller at the Lyric theatre and Uncle Vanya at the Vaudeville theatre are all still going ahead as normal, no tickets will be refunded. Customers who are unable to attend due to transport difficulties may exchange their tickets for a future performance of the same production on a “like-for-like” basis.
So get your tin hat on, dodge those snow flakes and battle your way down to London’s West End. London Underground will not be issuing gas masks, so best to bring a scarf instead.
There’s no snow like snow business.
Enjoy the snow but more importantly enjoy the show!
