We Will Rock You the Queen musical written by Ben Elton is continuing its own global domination as art mimics art.

The hit musical about a band of rebels attempting to overcome global domination is itself following on from announcements of European and U.S. Stadium tours by being the latest show to open in Germany.

From April We Will Rock You will be playing at the Colosseum Theater in Essen, Germany.

The show in London continues in to its 11th year at the Dominion theatre in the heart of the West End.

From April 2013 We Will Rock You the musical featuring over 30 of Queen’s greatest hits, returns after five years to North-Rhine Westphalia for a limited run. The hit musical has been the most successful musical in Cologne, where it played continuously for four years between 2004 and 2008.

We Will Rock You has now been enjoyed by over thirteen million worldwide, with five million people having seen the show at the Dominion Theatre, one of the biggest theatres in London’s West End. We Will Rock You is the longest running show at the Dominion theatre.

We Will Rock You won the prestigious Olivier Audience Award in 2011. The spectacular show was written by the award-winning best-selling author Ben Elton (Mr. Bean) with music provided by Queen and their impressive back catalogue of international hits, including: Killer Queen, Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody, Crazy Little Thing Called Love and of course We Will Rock You amongst many others.

Brian May said: “We are thrilled that we can present We Will Rock You in this latest technically revised version for the first time for Germany in Essen. It is impressive to see the audience jump and sing along, swinging their hands, simply having fun. We are very proud of this production. But what matters most; the show is live, dangerous and more than anything else: it rocks!”

The Queen story itself is one of the most impressive in pop history with more than 170 million albums sold worldwide, eighteen number-one albums, numerous number-one singles and DVDs, joining the Rock & Roll and the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame, over 700 concerts all over the world, including the historic appearance at Live Aid and a Guinness Book of World Records Award for the most successful UK chart album in history.

We Will Rock You tells the story of a globalized future without musical instruments. A handful of rock rebels, the “Bohemians”, fight against the all-powerful Globalsoft company and its boss, the Killer Queen; they fight for freedom, individuality and the rebirth of the age of rock. Scaramouche and Galileo, two young outsiders, cannot come to terms with the bleak conformist reality. They join the Bohemians and embark on the search to find the unlimited power of freedom, love and Rock!

With a dig and many ironic sideswipes We Will Rock You is a glorious comedy-musical as well as being an iconic rock sensation.
