It’s incredible at what you can do with just one word, especially if you’re Eddie Izzard, Stephen Frost, Suki Webster and Neil Mullarkey…

Eddie Izzard heads to the West End in the return of One Word Improv

After 20 years, the renowned masters of improvisation are back, reuniting in a one-off revival of the legendary One Word Improv.

If you don’t already know what the show is all about, then don’t worry, as neither do the performers!

Void of rehearsals, scripts, preparation, or any inclination of how the evening’s entertainment will unfold, Eddie Izzard – One Word Improv involves the audience making one word suggestions for sketches – and as you can imagine, anything could happen!

Non-stop laughter

When it toured the UK 20 years ago, One Word Improv was lapped up by audiences and critics alike, described by Financial Times reviewer Ian Shuttleworth as “Two hours of don’t-stop-to-think laughter.”

Reminiscing on the sketches that unfold on the much-loved show, improviser Neil Mullarkey said:

“It might last for ten minutes or ten seconds, we never know in advance. Then we would take another word and so on. It was great fun, especially in the West End where we managed to regularly smash up the furniture on stage.”

Eddie Izzard – One Word Improv is showing for one night only at the Palace Theatre on Friday 12th February 2016. The show starts at 6pm and lasts for an hour without any interval.

There are no age restrictions for One Word Improv, though there may be some strong language.
