Dance aficionados are in for a treat as the passionate Explosion UK Tour comes to the Lyric Theatre in 2015

Jay Markwick and his Flamenco Dance Company have been busy impressing audiences and setting the benchmark for local theatrical productions in Spain. And now the spectacular show that combines dance, singing and colour is coming to the Lyric Theatre.
Blending traditional styles with unique innovation
Explosion begins with a rousing sequence of traditional and world-class flamenco. From Tango to Bulerias and Farrucas, the show unravels into a colourful and spectacular vista of many different styles of dance, interwoven by a powerful story about love and passion.
Explosion’s producer, the young choreographer and director of the Flamenco Dance Company, Jay Markwick, blends his own unique techniques and speed of dancing into the traditional styles, with compelling results.
Quickening the pace
During the second part of the show the pace really quickens, riveting audiences into a 21st century splendour of colour, vibrancy, talent and dance innovation.
Prepare to be wowed as Jay Markwick and his dancers’ passion for dance opens up to an exciting display of Street, Latin and Contemporary sequences, with explosive results.
Explosion UK Tour includes a cast of 12 plus invited guests of up to two people.
This rousing and intense show that blends so many different styles of dance but retains a strong ballet influence, runs for 110 minutes, including a 20 minute interval.
Explosion will play at the Lyric Theatre on Monday 27th April 2015.
