Jazz is in the air as Curtis Stigers brings his tour to the West End
The American jazz musician is currently on a worldwide tour to promote his latest album ‘Hooray For Love’, which was released in April last year.
On February 2, 2015 Curtis will swoon an audience at the Lyric Theatre when the multi-platinum selling singer brings his show to London.
An all-time great
Curtis sprang to acclaim in the 1990s with a number of hits including ‘I Wonder Why’, which reached number 5 in the UK charts and number 9 in the US.
Over the years many of Curtis’ songs have become soul classics. His status as a world-class musician was eternally sealed when his version of Nick Lowe’s ‘(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding’ appeared on the soundtrack album for the hugely successful film The Bodyguard.
The artist went on to record and perform with many of the all-time greats including Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Prince, George Benson and The Allman Brothers Band.
A multi award-winning musician
In 2003, Curtis’ album ‘You Inspire Me’ was given the accolade of being ‘Jazz Album of the Year’ by the London Times. Four years’ later, BBC Radio 2 named the musician ‘Jazz Artist of the Year.’ In 2010 Curtis won ‘Best International Male Jazz Singer’ in the German Jazz Echo.
On Monday 2 February 2015 you have the chance to see this legendary artist perform, for one night only, at the Lyric Theatre in London.
