Emma Hatton will join the Wicked cast at the Apollo Victoria Theatre
From February 2, 2015 Emma Hatton will step into the pointed witch’s shoes playing the legendary Elphaba in Wicked at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre.
Emma Hatton is a familiar face on the West End having starred in Dreamboats And Petticoats and We Will Rock You. The British actress and singer is currently playing the Standby Elphaba.
Hatton to replace DiNoia as the loveable fictional villain
Hatton will replace American Jennifer DiNoia, the international Wicked star who will play the Wicked Witch of the West for a limited period from 27 October 2014 to 31 January 2015.
Kerry Ellis, who is currently playing the green-faced witch, will play her final performance as Ephaba on 25 October 2014.
Emma Hatton will star alongside Savannah Stevenson, who plays a highly-acclaimed Glinda the Good Witch of the South.
The talented actresses will all put their own unique stamp on what has been referred to as “one of the most popular West End musicals ever.”
Tenth longest-running West End show
Currently in its ninth year, the London production of the popular story of the infamous Wizard of Oz witches, is the tenth longest-running show on the West End.
And it’s not just London audience who have lapped up the enchanting show. Around the world Wicked has already been seen by over 42 million people in 13 different countries. It has won 100 international awards and remains ‘Broadway’s biggest blockbuster’ having played at the Gershwin Theatre for more than a decade.
