Danyah Miller the an intimate one-woman show
Michael Morpurgo’s captivating children’s book has been adapted for the stage by Wizard Presents and is arriving at the West End following a UK tour.
A one-woman show
The one-woman show stars Danyah Miller, a natural storyteller and co-director of Wizard Presents.
The intimate play is set in a library brimming with books that come to life. In story is centred on eight-year-old Tomas, who doesn’t like school and hates books. One day Tomas’ world is turned upside down when he meets the mystical Unicorn Lady, played by Danyah Miller.
I Believe In Unicorns opened at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2013 to much acclaim. During 2014 it was seen by more than 20,000 people, including an extremely successful run at the Vaudeville Theatre.
The Olivier Award-nominated production has been described as an “utterly magical stage adaptation of Michael Murgurgo’s enthralling children’s tale.”
An inspiring storyteller
Danyah Miller’s storytelling abilities in I Believe In Unicorns have been described as “gifted”.
“She brings an ethereal quality to the piece, taking us through the story in an inspiring ways,” wrote the Fringe Review.
I Believe in Unicorns is directed by multi award winner Dani Parr and designed by Kate Bunce.
It will run at the Vaudeville Theatre from 1 – 30 August, 2015.
