Full cast is announced for the West End transfer of Aladdin

The complete casting has finally been announced for the eagerly-awaited Aladdin that’s flying into the Prince Edward Theatre in May 2016

Jade Ewen and Dean John-Wilson are playing Jasmine and Aladdin in the anticipated production 

Dean John-Wilson is leading the talented cast playing the loveable street rat Aladdin. Dean rocketed to fame when he reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2008. The exceptionally talented singer went on to star in the National Theatre’s much acclaimed Here Lies Love, as well as the UK tour of Sister Act and Songs for a New World.

Former Sugarbabes sensation Jade Ewen will star alongside Dean John-Wilson, stepping into the slippers of Princess Jasmine. Jade Ewen made her professional stage debut playing Young Nala in The Lion King and has subsequently made a series of theatrical performances, including The Heights and Whistle Down.

The duo will be accompanied by the illustrious Don Gallagher who is playing the evil Jafar. Gallagher’s stage credits include Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Sweeney Todd, Henry IV Part 1 & 2 and The Producers, amongst others.

Peter Howe is playing Iago in the anticipated Broadway transfer of Disney’s Aladdin. Howe originated the role of Michael Wormwood in the Olivier Award-winning Matilda the Musical.

Bend It Like Beckham star Irvine Iqbal will play Sultan and Nathan Amzi, whose previous theatre credits include In The Heights, is starring as Babkak.

Broadway cast member Trevor Dion Nicholas will be transferring with the production, making his West End debut as the Genie.

The full highly talented cast includes Arran Anzani-Jones, Stephen Rahman-Hughes, Albey Brookes, Miles Barrow, Bianca Cordice, Lauren Chia, Daniel de Bourg, Leon Craig, Melanie Elizabeth, Seng Henk Goh, Michelle Chantelle Hopewell, Kade Ferraiolo, Mitch Leow, Fred Johanson, Thierry Picaut, Oliver Lidert, Briony Scarlett, Alex Pinder, Sadie-Jean Shirley, Kyle Seeley, Katie Singh, Ricardo Spriggs, Marsha Songcome, Dawnita Smith, Jermaine Woods and Kayleigh Thadani.

Combining stunning choreography with breath-taking visual effects, this stage adaptation of Disney’s charming tale of the street rat Aladdin who frees a Genie from a lamp and finds his wishes granted, is showing at the Prince Edward Theatre from May 27, 2016.
