Described by Jeremy Paxman as being “brilliantly written” and there could be a “money back guarantee” if the audience doesn’t laugh, the endearing comedy, based on Roger Mortimer’s hilarious and often touching letters to his wayward son Charlie, is coming to the Apollo Theatre.

Mortimer’s best-selling letters to his son are laden with sharp observations and crisp anecdotes, and span 25 years of Charlie’s wayward youth and early adulthood.

Undocumented stories

Best-selling author and celebrated journalist Michael Simkins, brings the poignant memoirs to life as he uncovers many more undocumented stories of Charlie’s unruly past and his relationship with his father.

Dear Lupin is directed by Philip Franks. The production will run at the Apollo Theatre for a limited season from Thursday 30th July until Saturday 19th September 2015.

The production transfers to the Apollo following a successful UK tour.

Talking about his delight that Dear Lupin is playing at the West End and that James and Jack Fox are starring in the production, Charlie Mortimer said:

“To have Fox father and son playing Mortimer father and son is a coup beyond my wildest dreams; and to say I am excited and delighted to see the production transfer into the West End, would be the ultimate understatement.”

The show runs for 2 hours 20 minutes with one interval. Dear Lupin is suitable for ages 14 upwards.
