Hobson’s Choice to transfer to the Vaudeville Theatre in the West End
Referred to as one of the “greatest comic characters in English drama”, Henry Horatio Hobson, a self-made shopkeeper, who’s also a skinflint and boozer, is to entertain audiences at the Vaudeville Theatre this summer.
Hobson is a true tyrant to his daughters and when his eldest daughter Maggie refuses to give her blessing in his quest to marry his bootmaker Will Mossop, a battle of wills commences, where Henry Hobson could lose everything.
Known for its laughter, wit and warmth, this much-loved comedy stars Martin Shaw, one of Britain’s favourite actors, both on television and on stage.
Joining the much-admired actor Martin Shaw on stage is Naomi Frederick, Gabrielle Dempsey, Bryan Dick and Joanna McCallum.
The production is directed by Jonathan Church, Artistic Director of the Chichester Festival Theatre.
