Some exciting cast announcements have been made as Miss Saigon extends to its second year at the Prince Edward Theatre
New cast members have been announced to star in the critically-acclaimed Miss Saigon
It has been confirmed that award-winners Jon Jon Briones and Eva Noblezada will extend to a second year playing in the legendary musical ‘Miss Saigon’.
Further cast announcements confirmed for the Boublil and Schonberg musical, include the arrival of the star of Broadway Chris Peluso.
Peluso’s West End debut
Coming straight from the Tony Award-wining musical ‘Beautiful’ on Broadway, Chris Peluso will star as ‘Chris’ in the musical. Peluso will be making his West End debut.
He will be joined by Siobhan Dillon as ‘Ellen’, Sangwoong Jo as ‘Thuy’, and Natalie Mendoza playing ‘Gigi’.
Natalie Mendoza was last seen on stage playing ‘Imelda Marcos’ in the critically-acclaimed in the National Theatre’s Here Lies love.
Sangwood Jo has a number of theatre credits in his native Korea but will be making his debut on the West End.
The talented new cast members will join Jon Briones as ‘The Engineer’, High Maynard as ‘John’ and Eva Noblezada as ‘Kim’, who are all continuing their roles in the Boublil and Schonberg musical.
A tragic tale of doomed romance
Claude-Michel Schonbery and Alain Boublil’s Mss Saigon is based on Madame Butterfly, an opera by Giacomo Puccini.
The musical tells a tragic tale of a doomed romance between an Asian woman and her American lover that abandoned her. The story is set in the 1970s in Saigon during the Vietnam War.
Having opened in May 2014, the West End production of Miss Saigon has been met with great acclaim, enjoying record-breaking advance bookings. Following its success in London, the production recently opened in Korea and Japan and is planned to show in Europe, Australia and the US.
This award-winning production is now booking into its second year at the Prince Edward Theatre on the West End.
Miss Saigon is booking at the Prince Edward Theatre until Saturday 19 December 2015.
