Rowan Atkinson is set to return to the West End for the first time in 25 years early next year in the lead role of Simon Grays “Quartermaine’s Terms“; last seen in theatres in 1971.

The play, set in the 1960’s sees a Cambridge school teaching English to foreigners, dealing with the interrelationships between the seven teachers. Specifically that of St John Quartermaine (Rowan Atkinson) and the others.

The heart of the Group sees St John Quartermaine; a kind and pleasant however somewhat hopeless teacher. A role you can picture Rowan fitting perfectly! “Quartermaine’s terms” sees a figure of Quartermaine willing to listen to the issues of his self-obsessed colleagues whilst a new headmaster jeopardises his future at the school.

Rowan Atkinson, best known for his appearances in comedy films like that of Johnny English and Rat Race, initially made his West End debut in 1981 in “Rowan Atkinson in Revue” however his lead role in “Quartermaine’s Terms” will mark his first appearance in a play for 25 years.

With a title role played by the infamous comedy genius that is Rowan Atkinson, “Quartermaine’s Terms” is sure to be a West End hit of 2013!
