For one night only the world-renowned actor Simon Callow will be performing in London in a poignant one-man show playing Jesus
Simon Callow in The Man Jesus
Written by Matthew Hurt, this compelling one-man play examines the life of ‘the man Jesus’. It looks back at the key moments in Jesus’ life through the people who knew him. The play provides poignant accounts of some of the most prevalent biblical stories, including the Journey to Jerusalem, the Wedding at Cana and the raising of Lazarus.
An absorbing tale of tyrants, traitors and madmen
Callow’s compelling depiction of Jesus takes the audience through a powerful journey of the traitors, tyrants and madmen Jesus encountered in his life and ultimately begs the question: “What sort of man was able to inspire the history of the world?”
Laden with wit, this provocative production was met with huge acclaim at the Belfast’s Lyric Theatre, with a barrage of admiration be awarded to Callow’s performance.
“Callow is stunning,” wrote the Belfast Times, an accolade reiterated by the Daily Telegraph, which wrote:
“Callow renews our sense of wonder at the son of man and his story.”
