These are the rather bizarre messages being put out by producer Kenny Wax in a new tongue-in-cheek marketring campaign to boost ticket sales for his latest show, the ‘quite funny’ Play that goes wrong. So the deliberate mistake in the previous line is our attempt to get in to the spirit of self-depracation.
Kenny plans to have billboards emblazoned with descriptions of his latest comedy play such as ‘Fair to middling’, ‘disappointing’ and ‘really rather dull’.
Some may say those phrases could have been used on ill-fated shows such as Viva Forever or Love Never Dies.
Let’s hope that Kenny’s negative campaign doesn’t have a negative impact on ticket sales as he may well end up with egg on his face or should that be a custard pie?
