Not many shows are able to celebrate a 4000th performance but the long standing Queen musical We Will Rock You will be playing to audiences for the 4000th time on the 20th of October 2012 at the Dominion Theatre. The musical also celebrated its 10th year in the West End this year, and showing no signs of stopping. On the 8th of October Oliver Tompsett and Rachael Wooding will take over the lead roles of Galileo and Scaramouche to keep the cast fresh.
As the public have demand that the show should continue for 4000 performances they must be doing something right and we at Shows In London certainly think they are. We Will Rock You captures the energy and passion from Queen’s music and combines it with a fast paced and visually astonishing staging. We Will Rock you is one of the only theatre shows in London that appeals to all ages, nationalities and demographics, especially Dad’s.
At Shows in London we got to thinking which other events managed to reach a 4000th celebration and we came up with the following:
- Boeing 747 have flown over 4000 times from London to China
- Real Madrid have scored over 4000 goals
- The sun has gone down over 4000 times since September 11, 2001. Those who saw their last sunrise that morning are not forgotten
- Lamborghini have made 4000 Murcielago’s
- Wheel of Fortune aired 4000 episodes
- Mick Jagger Had Sex With Over 4000 Women (allegedly!)
