West End musical phenomenon Wicked has made an exciting announcement, confirming the cast that will lead the incredibly successful show through its tenth anniversary celebrations

Rachel Tucker to star as Elphaba in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre

On September 27, the award-winning Wicked will celebrate an incredible ten years in the West End. Having played more than 4,000 performances and having been seen by more than seven million people in the British capital alone, Wicked is now the eight longest-running show in the West End.

To mark the spectacular success of the show, from Monday September 5, 2016, a new Wicked cast will unite on the stage of the Apollo Victoria Theatre. And we have to admit, the cast is wickeder than ever!

The incredibly talented Rachel Tucker will make a return to the West End production to play Elphaba, direct from a critically-acclaimed run on Broadway. Stepping into Glinda’s shoes will be Suzie Mathers, who will be joining the London cast from the Australian production.

Anita Dobson will be another new face to the Wicked cast, playing Madame Morrible in the musical. Oliver Savile will continue playing Fiyero and Mark Curry will retain his role as The Wizard.

Some members of the original Wicked cast will make a return appearance at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. Martin Ball will be returning as Doctor Dillamond, alongside former cast members Katie Rowley Jones as Nessarose and Idriss Kargbo as Boq.

The current cast members, including Emma Hatton, who plays Elphaba and Savannah Stevenson as Glinda, will make their final appearance in the musical on Saturday September 3, 2016.

Wicked’s Executive Producer, Michal McCabe, shared his excitement of the production’s ten-year anniversary and the talented cast that will be celebrating it.

“We are delighted to announce the fantastic company that will lead us through the 10th birthday celebrations at the Apollo Theatre later this year. It is a great pleasure to welcome back from Broadway the incredible Rachel Tucker who will star alongside Susie Mathers, who appeared in the Australian production as ‘Elphaba’ and ‘Glinda’,” said Michael McCabe.

“Surrounding them will be many exciting new faces, including the incomparable Anita Dobson as Madame Morrible, and celebrated alumni, including the return of original cast member Martin Ball as Doctor Dillamond,” added Wicked’s Executive Producer.
