Calling all Harry Potter fans… exciting news is bubbling in the West End… A new story based on the untimely death of Harry’s parents is coming to the Palace Theatre next summer

J. K. Rowling to premiere new story at the West End in 2016

Based on an original new story by J. K. Rowling, the Harry Potter author is teaming up with writer Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany to bring a new play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, to the stage.

The production will have its world premiere on the West End, at the Palace Theatre in the summer of 2016.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be produced by Sonia Freedman. It will have movements by Steven Hoggett, set designs by Christine Jones, lighting by Neil Austin, costumes by Katrina Lindsay, sound by Gareth Fry, special effects by Jeremy Chernick and music by Imogen Heap.

The story is centred on the events leading up to the death of James and Lily Potter, who were mercilessly murdered by the evil Lord Voldemort on 31 October 1981.

Spanning seven books which have sold more than 450 million copies around the world, the Harry Potter phenomenon needs little introduction.

Now the plot thickens even further as a new dimension is introduced to the intrigue and mystery and brought to life on stage.
