If you’re planning a family trip to the theatre to see the Thriller musical or a similar show and are taking your kids for their first-ever theatre visit you might want to make sure they know what to expect before they get there – and how different it will be to just sitting at home watching television!
It’s very important that you remind your children of how to behave before they take their seats as you don’t want them to disturb other members of the audience – especially during any quiet bits. Of course, they are allowed to laugh at humorous parts of the play, but getting the giggles at inopportune moments that could put the actors off is obviously frowned upon.
Depending on the type of show you’re going to see, you might want to consider if they are old enough to really enjoy it and get a lot out of it. A pantomime is great fun for all the family but younger children might not really be able to give other performances their full attention, particularly if the show lasts for a couple of hours. So just think about whether your child is of an age to be able to sit quietly for a prolonged period or not.
Going to the theatre is a great activity for families to enjoy together and if you’re thinking of going on a day out to see a show you’re sure to have a wonderful time. Just make sure you’re all fully prepared first!
