Hailed as “ferociously witty” and a “landslide success”, This House is a political drama that’s set in London in 1974.

Westminster echoes with the dreary sounds of backbiting and bickering as Britain’s ruling parties wrestle to change the fortunes of a nation on the brink of an economic crisis and in which the government hangs on by a thread.

As sick MPs are hauled to parliament to cast their votes, votes are won and lost by a margin and politicians die, as the struggle of power causes the foundations of Westminster to creak under immense pressure and Britain’s future looks increasingly bleak.

This House premiered at the National Theatre in 2012 where it was met with great acclaim, described by the Daily Telegraph as:

“Ferociously witty and permeated by a deep sense of the tragi-comic nature of all political systems.”

This quirky, witty and profoundly moving political drama is directed by Headlong Artistic Director, Jeremy Herrin.

This new poignant political play is showing at the Garrick Theatre from 19 November 2016 until 25 February 2017. The show runs for two hours and 55 minutes, including one interval.

Due to some of the content of This House, it is not suitable for audience members under the age of 14.
