International television and film super-star Matthew Perry brings the world premiere of his fast-paced comic new play The End of Longing to London’s Playhouse Theatre

Friends legend Matthew Perry’s quick-witted comedy premieres at the Playhouse Theatre

Written by Matthew Perry, The End of Longing is a dark comedy that explores four singletons who are fast-approaching 40 and are desperately searching for meaning. Following an unruly night in a Los Angeles bar, Stephanie, Jack, Stevie and Joseph’s lives become irrevocably intertwined as they embark on a tumultuous journey impelling them to confront the darker side of their relationships.

Described as sharply written and hilarious, The End of Longing provides a stark reminder that it’s never too late to start living life to the full.

The End of Longing sees Perry reunite with Lindsay Posner, who directs the production. The pair previously worked together on ‘Sexual Perversity in Chicago’ in 2003 at the Comedy Theatre.

Matthew Perry is of course best known for his role of ‘Chandler Bing’ in the much-loved and long-standing American sitcom ‘Friends’.

Talking about the world premiere of The End of Longing, Perry said:

“Being on stage makes you feel naked. Being on stage in a play that I have written will make me feel doubly naked.”

The End of Longing is running at the Playhouse Theatre for a limited run from 2 February until 14 May 2016.
