The Chichester Festival Theatre’s acclaimed production of Guys and Dolls will take centre stage at the Savoy Theatre when Gypsy closes in November
Much-loved musical promises to thrill West End audiences this winter
The classic musical, which premiered on Broadway in 1950, will play for a limited 13 week run at the Savoy.
On Broadway, Guys and Dolls ran for 1200 performances, reached much critical acclaim and won a Tony Award for Best Musical. The long-running musical won several other highly prestigious awards, including Olivier and Drama Desk Awards.
As well as being revived on both Broadway and the West End several times, in 1955 Guys and Dolls was adapted for film, starring Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra.
The romantic comedy is set in New York City, where gambler Nathan Detroit is eager to find a large sum of money to fund a big game of Craps he is setting up. Desperate to find the cash, Detroit turns to fellow gambler Sky Masterson…
Gordon Greenberg’s celebrated modern revival of the classic comedy is choreographed by Carlos Acosta and Andre Wright and has musical direction by Gareth Valentine.
Jamie Parker will be reprising his role of Sky Masterson at the Chichester Festival Theatre, transferring to the West End this winter.
Guys and Dolls will run at the Savoy Theatre on the West End from December 10, 2015 until March 10, 2016.
